Space and grace: a 70-minute Vinyasa flow yoga practice.

We have made a NEW yoga practice up on YouTube! Enjoy a Vinyasa flow practice that focuses on building strength and mobility, especially in the hips and shoulders. May the agility we create in our physical bodies inspire us to become agile in our minds and hearts.

There are modifications offered for the various postures in this practice; adjust as you see fit in order to work with how you are feeling. Take good care of yourself.

As the pandemic situation continues, let’s build patience, grit, and endurance as we navigate through uncertainty. The practice of yoga helps us reconnect with these aspects of ourselves, so that we can feel emboldened in our daily work and relationships – which is where the real practice of yoga is.

We give these practice videos freely; if you find value in this offering, and you are in a position to give, please consider donating by clicking the button below. Dana is the traditional practice of donation through which yoga teachers have received financial support – and is the way I am currently offering my teachings. Thank you in advance for your support.

Rinse and repeat: an Ashtanga yoga practice video.

To help with navigating these turbulent times, our second online yoga video offering is a 60 minute Ashtanga practice.

Ashtanga is a flowing style of yoga, particularly distinguishable by its set sequence of postures. A set sequence asks us to surrender to what is, instead of running away or avoiding what is uncomfortable.

When you keep practising this set, you discover that there is a lot of power in repetition: the opportunity to find depth and subtlety alongside comfort in the familiar, as well as the opportunity to reflect on how you change on a daily, monthly and seasonal basis. As we observe these changes, nothing needs to be fixed, or pushed away; instead, we learn to hold space for what’s arising and falling. Through this, we grow our resilience and compassion.

As the COVID-19 pandemic situation continues to evolve, what will carry us forward to an uncertain future, with as much grace as possible, is to continue returning to tried-and-true methods that help us to feel grounded.

Let us endeavour to root down into our feet, feel our breathing, and come back to a practice of embodiment that can offer an anchor in these turbulent times.

Things keep changing. Fear, paranoia, grief, and frustration – these are normal. At the same time, there can be joy, gratitude, kindness, and community.

Rinse and repeat.
Rinse and repeat.
One breath at a time.
We are in this together.

Dana is the practice of donation – and was the traditional way that yoga teachers received financial support. I know a handful of contemporary teachers that maintain this practice and rely heavily on dana – turns out that I am currently one of them!

If you find value in this offering, and you are in a position to give, please consider donating by clicking the button below. I am grateful for your support and interest in what’s going on in my tiny corner of the universe; thank you in advance for your support.

Take good care.

Ayurvedic Spring Reset 2019

Join me on Sunday, April 28th (3-5 pm, $55+GST) at Yoga Public, 280 Fort St for this year’s Ayurvedic Spring Reset!

According to Ayurveda, the change of seasons is the natural time to reset ourselves, boost Agni (metabolism), and remove Ama (toxins). Learn about the complementary healing practices of Ayurveda and yoga to engage in a transformative process to restore balance, wellness and clarity.

During the 2-hour workshop, you will:

  • Lay the groundwork for understanding the principles of Ayurveda
  • Deepen your understanding of the body-mind connection
  • Uncover the methodology of a 5-day cleanse to integrate all your new knowledge!

You will gain access to exclusive online content I have created to guide you through your cleanse. This supporting material will present simple daily practices to incorporate into each day of the cleanse, including recipes, guided audio meditations, journaling prompts, and more. The online content will be made available for 31 days after the workshop for you to have the flexibility to conduct your cleanse according to your schedule.

A cleanse is an excellent yearly practice that offers lasting benefits, such as:

  • Improving digestion by learning to deeply listen to your body
  • Trusting in the inherent wisdom of yourself
  • Feeling lighter, brighter, and more clear
  • Realigning with what nourishes and serves you.

If you have participated in a reset/cleanse with me before, please note that its format continues to evolve. I’m continually evolving in my understanding of Ayurveda and incorporating the latest scientific research; this updated program reflects deeper insights.

This practice is excellent for both beginners and seasoned pros; find support and community in embarking on this journey together.

To register, please visit www.yogapublic.com.

If you have questions, feel free to contact me here.

Namaste!
