In Sanskrit (the language of yoga), the word for contentment is santosha. It speaks to the relationship we have with ourselves and our lives. How can we find ease with things as they are? How do we come home to ourselves?
Feeling settled doesn’t just spontaneously happen – it takes a bit of effort to get there! Our practice gives us a chance to actively look for little moments of joy, nourishment, or even just okayness – and to really take that in. Little by little, contentment is a state that we can inhabit with more familiarity and consistency.
