Our next kirtan is at Soul Survivors!

Our lovely friends Eric and Rachel are hosting our next kirtan on Sunday, February 28th (6-8 pm, $20) in their tattoo and piercing studio, Soul Survivors!  They have a very unique and quirky space that we are really looking forward to filling with the sound of chanting and music.  The space is small, so a limited amount of tickets are available.  Please contact Adrienne to get yours before they run out!

No chanting experience, tattoos, or piercings are necessary to attend.  Soul Survivors is located in Osborne Village, at 118-B Osborne St.  Free street parking is available in the surrounding area.  We hope to see you there!

A new live album!

Check it out!  We have another album, here: www.adrienneshum.bandcamp.com

It is a live recording of our kirtan in December, in celebration of the winter solstice.  Give it a download, and chant along!  Thank you for your support – we hope you enjoy it!

Join us at Snowflake!

David and I will be leading a yoga/kirtan workshop at Snowflake Winter Wellness Festival, Winnipeg’s first full-day urban retreat on Sunday January 24th!  We are excited to bring you a workshop that explores the origin and goal of breathing exercises through the practice of gentle yoga asana and the chanting practice of Kirtan.  The breath is a powerful tool that we can use to balance our bodies and minds, and mastery of the breath transcends all styles of yoga practice.

We hope you can join us as we sync breath, movement and voice to the beat of a drum (and a harmonium!)  No experience is necessary, and the workshop is suitable for all levels of practitioners.  Check out the Snowflake website to see the other amazing workshops that will be happening, and sign up for “The Power of Breath: A Yoga and Kirtan Workshop” here!

Stay grounded this holiday season.

The holidays are a busy time for us all, and self-care is usually the first thing that gets pushed aside amidst the flurry of activities.  Even when you think there isn’t enough time to take care of yourself and to practise yoga, it is so worth making time for it.  Practice can help you to reset and feel grounded again, so that you can be more fully awake and appreciative of whatever this joyful season brings.  David and I hope you can join us for a Kirtan at Yoga Public on Friday, December 18th, 7:15-9:00 pm ($15).  The winter solstice will be a few days after, so we will be marking the passing of time with chanting and music.  Hope to see you there!
