rest & digest: post-retreat resources

Thank you for being at the retreat – I am so grateful for our time together! Here are some resources to offer continued support on your journey. Find below a guided audio meditation that is about cultivating gratitude for your digestive system. While we viewed digestion in a more poetic way during the retreat, here is a more literal approach.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me here.

Be well,
Adrienne

GUIDED MEDITATION FOR DIGESTION:

Of course, we consume more than just food; we also consume the news, social media, books, movies, etc. Notice if all these different inputs are nourishing you in a wholesome way that supports your well-being. Prune things away / adjust as needed.

In addition, get adequate sleep (8 hours per night, ideally) to allow your brain to process and integrate your experiences. There is no yoga pose, meditation, food, supplement, life hack, etc. that replaces good ol’ fashioned sleep! 😉

A NON-EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF TOOLS TO HELP YOU ALONG IN THIS JOURNEY:

  • Tongue scraper for stimulating the Ayurvedic “digestive fire” known as Agni
  • Training in Compassion, by Norman Fischer. An excellent book that explains in plain and simple language how to root our practice in kindness and goodwill.
  • Why We Sleep, by Matthew Walker. For those of us who have trouble resting, here’s some solid science to convince you that resting well is very productive indeed.
